How has your experience at IPRA contributed to your professional or personal interests?
IPRA has given me a whole new perspective on what it means to work for a nonprofit organization. From networking with other organizations to helping plan yearly events, I have gotten an abundance of hands-on experience. Before coming to IPRA, I never realized how much time, effort, and passion goes into nonprofits like I do now! I am very thankful to have been given the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally here at IPRA.
What parks have you visited in Indiana?
Growing up in Indiana, there wasn’t a lot to do, so my family took advantage of the several parks this state has to offer. I have visited Indiana Dunes State Park, Turkey Run State Park, Summit Lake State Park, and my personal favorite, Mounds State Park in Anderson, IN.
What is your favorite park memory or experience?
When I was around 7 or 8 years old, my aunt and I decided to go to West Side Park in Muncie, IN. The slides used to be very unstable and rocky when trying to go down them, and due to this, I fell off the side of one of the slides. I wasn’t injured at all, but my aunt, along with the rest of the park visitors were worried sick. I loved the attention. My aunt then took me to Taco Bell and got me $20 worth of tacos. I’m not sure why exactly this is my favorite park memory, but it makes me laugh whenever I think about that day.
