Thank you to all the joined us for a Northern District Meeting at the New Haven Community Center Park. Park Superintendent Mike Clendenen discussed the park project and how they were designated as an Indiana Regional Stellar Community. The Indiana Regional Stellar Program is a state competition offered by a collaboration of state agencies. Goals of the Indiana Stellar program are to foster regional collaborative behaviors and investment, stem the tide of non-metropolitan population loss through talent attraction and retention, build sustainability, build capacity with municipal governance, and leverage quality of places through a comprehensive planning processes building on current assets.

About the Park:

In December 2018 the seven East Allen County communities that make up the New Allen Alliance were designated as an Indiana Regional Stellar Community. This opened grant opportunities to these communities; New Haven’s projects include the Meadowbrook Trail and the New Haven Community Center Park. This $1.8 million park includes a splash pad, inclusive playground, basketball/pickleball courts, outdoor dining area and restrooms. Completion date is June 1, 2022.

Thank you, New Haven Parks and Recreation, for hosting!
