The Indiana Park and Recreation Association’s (IPRA) annual Dollars for Scholars Golf Outing held on Tuesday, May 15 at the Eagle Creek Golf Course in Indianapolis was a great success. Representatives from numerous organizations came out to support the Indiana Parks and Recreation Foundation (IPRF) and enjoy a day of golf, food, and networking. All proceeds raised at the outing benefit the IPRF scholarship fund.

The outing began with a lunch sponsored by Countryside Play Structures. Lunch gave golfers an opportunity to connect before hitting the course. Golfer Andy Kingsley of the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department stated, “It’s a great opportunity to network with peers in my profession.” While the lunch occurred, golfers also had the chance to participate in a putting contest sponsored by Visit Hamilton County Indiana, where Curt Little took home the win!

In addition to the scramble style tournament, golfers also participated in a water balloon slingshot toss sponsored by the Indy Parks Foundation and a marshmallow drive sponsored by Recreation Unlimited. Drink and snack carts funded by Cripe, Lehman & Lehman, Inc., and Recreation inSites, LLC serviced the golfers throughout the day. “We appreciate being able to support the Indiana Parks and Recreation Foundation. We like a day out of the office and the opportunity for team building” Travis Tranbarger, Director of Parks and Recreation at Brownsburg Parks. The outing concluded with a dinner sponsored by Rundell Ernestberger Associates and Sahm’s Catering.

We want to thank our hole sponsors BGI Fitness, Cardno, Context Design, Evie Kirkwood, Indiana Amateur Softball Association, Mader Design LLC, Norwalk Concrete Industries, Peterson Architecture, PROS Consulting, Inc, RATIO, Snider Recreation, Inc., The National Bank of Indianapolis, and Troyer Group.

The Dollars for Scholars Golf Outing would not have been possible without the generosity of its sponsors and participants. As summarized by golfer Mike Cripe, “This is one of my favorite golf outings every year.” IPRA and IPRF look forward to the future success of the Dollar for Scholars Golf Outing for years to come.

Congratulations to DB Engineering and Troyer Group on your first and second place victories!
